Complete house rewiring
A house rewire is when all or some of the wiring has been replaced in a house. This will usually include all accesories like light switches, sockets and fuseboard (consumer unit).
It is advisable to have a full electrical inspection carried out on your property if it is over 10 years old to determine the condition of the electrical system.
Common problems which might suggest that your property requires a rewire are:
- Out of date wiring, switches and sockets.
- Old wireable fuseboxes do not meet current electrical regulations and need to be upgraded.
- Lead wiring or vulcanised rubber cable present in the system indicates those circuits must be rewired.
- If on test and inspection the original system falls outside of the parameters required by current regulations.
Rewiring a property is a major undertaking and so it is important to engage the services of a fully qualified Part P electrical contractor.
